Animeblogger.net offers free hosting packages for anime bloggers ;) uploading images can be done via ftp, post writing is in html, with a static preview underneath that updates each time you save. And, you can transfer posts from blogger automatically ;D probably a bit to late for that now though :( Have you thought about trying wordpress ?
