Gintama definitely is a series that needs a bit of time to get started, but once it does, it turns out to have a great sense of humour, which I don't think can be compared to any other series. I think the best way to compare it is if you took Slayers, removed any borders of taste and made it five times more sadistic.

Now that you say it, "horror" indeed isn't the right word for it. More like... "blood and gore"?

bateszi: That's true. People who love horror, and nothing but horror will probably find this anime quite enjoyable. ^_^

madmaxy: I'm indeed expecting some great things from The Third. It has the potential to become an awesome show. Especially the battles and the characters show this.

Ive just seen The Third, and i must admit IT actually good. The cariography with the battles is amazing in comparison with other anime and there are no battlebackrounds (you know when theres some awsome move and instead of showing the backround they show some moving 2 colour backdrop instead) and everythings strategic, if there any need to even out the laughter from Ouran of Haruhi The third is the somber way to go

TOKKO was an interesting one for me. Like you say, it's not as though it's anything special- but it strikes me as a series without any intentions of trying to be anything beyond blood and guts horror anyway, so it inevitably ends up being good fun to watch; especially for a horror fan like me! :)
