As Anga said it's like a remake but without all the good elements, still I'm going to watch it for 2nd degree, the horse rescue was just too funny. As for Afro Samurai I was really disappointed, it wasn't at all the collaboration of Hollywood and Japanese Anime, it looks just like the average teenager comic: only style and no substance, and too much unjustified violence (the well-known american tastes). As for the story I don't know what you foresaw in it but people fighting for 500 yen headbands is just too much, adding to this the "incredibly researched characters" who exist only for the sake of being pseudo-originals like these hightech-buddhist monks and their shinjuku prostitutes.Still it could have worked if the show wasn't taking itself so seriously. The only good point was for me the voice acting.
