Seriously, I know she is a girl, and normally what girls think isn't important in some cases, but honestly, Mai, tell them your dreams. They would be good with a lot of situations if she'd learn what's best for the group and tell them what she sees. Otherwise, Cool, great episode. Favorite Show!

Well, I'll see if the next arc will turn out to be a great one. It's not like I've given up on the series. :P

Still, in the second arc, Mai really had to fight for her life, and those of others too. I'm missing that a bit in the past few arcs.

Just like timelessdreams said, i think the show is still gripping and mai's not stealing the show, and IMO this arc will be better than the 2nd arc, in terms of intensity and the mystery. I think the focus is on Mai (on last, and this arc also) as she's actually the one that can 'converse' (in a way) with the situation at hand, because of her power.

the house looks like a house that an ecentric rich guy built that actually exists in america. and there's another famous house that had a secret basement where a guy would kidnap people to be cut up and murdered in his house. my first impression was that this house seems to be inspired by those two cases put together

i actually think this arc might turn out good

That's indeed the problem. I watched up till episode 16 that way. But each time, the episodes lacked something. They just never lived up to the awesomeness of episode 5. After episode 17, I finally realized that this was because Mai turned into a damsel-in-distress when the third arc started. Don't worry, I gave the show enough chances for this, but I really think that Mai is ruining this anime for me.

I loved this episode, but I disagree on your theory that those two ghosts are now randomly kidnapping people. Because they were tortured and I don't really see how those two are able to do something to different people. I believe that there is something far greater than that.
They do need help, that's for sure but it doesn't really make any sence for them to kidnap people.

Also I disagree on your critism about Mai. When you are dreaming, you often don't remind the dream that you had, and I think Mai finds this dreams so shocking that she doesn't want to believe it. Remember, she had already cases with the death, it killed both her parents. But it does make sence because I was already wondering how on earth a high-scholer could just go to another school when her school wasn't even finished. This does really make something clear.

Don't be so harsh on your judgement on Mai. I believe it's bugging you so much that you forget to enjoy the horrors and the greatness of this episode.
