Ryousuke lied to the guy in the boat, Arai, by saying he's interested in joining Hijikata and Enomoto with his spanking lovely ship. So Hijikata and Arai went to check him out and it turned out to be a trap as Soutetsu had guessed. I liked the short fight sequence between Hijikata and Ryousuke, surprisingly it might just be the best animated one of the show so far in terms of movements. Ryousuke (and Saigou) are actually against Hijikata and Enomoto because Ryousuke and Saigou are from the new government, while Hijikata and Enomoto are supporters of the old and now dead one.
