In my case, perhaps finding out that this certain person was murdered will rather make me feel this wanting to have 'justice' for his/her death, rather than feel sad over it because I'm not close enough to the person for me to feel that loss (same as Ayano)... Then I'll most likely cry and be filled with sadness once I see other family members of mine mourning in anguish over his/her death. this might seem being insensitive for some people, but I guess it's all because each and every people have different emotions... with regards to Ayano’s reaction, I think some people really tend to be like that when it comes to the death of people who aren’t close to them (even if they’re family members). I wonder if you've seen the later episodes (especially episode 4)? I don't know why you say it has a bad scriptwriting... o__o It might have some flaws in some part, but the Kazuma x Ayano antics are priceless! I really love this show~ I still hope you'll watch the later episodes, in the hopes that your opinion about it will change :) but of course, to each his own... They showed it in DC along with Paprika, at the annual Japan Festival a few weeks ago. And I dunno what you thought of it... but personally, I really, REALLY did not like it. It also helped that Madhouse uses some very nice camera angles/spins to create dramatic effect.
