Claymore - 07

To be honest, this episode was quite good, but I’m not too sure about Priscilla. Not only is her character even more annoying than Raki, she also came from nowhere, as this anime portrayed it. I liked Irene, and Noel and Sophia also work well with her, but there’s something I just don’t like about Priscilla.

I think it’s the fact that she got her powers just a bit too easily. Power comes with with experience, and she looks more like one of these shounen-heroes who suddenly got hold of an incredible power. I would have liked to see her at fourth or fifth place at this point, so that we could really see her develop a bit more, as her character definitely is interesting.

I’m also interested about the next episode. There are going to be two possibilities: Teresa dies, or she lives, but she continues to hide herself. I actually do hope that Teresa is going to kill Priscilla, but that probably won’t happen. I can see her become some kind of major antagonist later on. Something’s telling me her devotion to the right is going to have a major smack in the head somewhere in the future.

I’m wondering, though… why don’t Noel and Sophia appear in the OP?

  2. I think your reaction to priscilla is pretty much the reaction the writers wanted from the audience.

As for Sophie and Noel, they don’t appear in the OP because they aren’t major characters.

  4. Think of Priscilla as the typical shounen hero-types - the ones that most shows are based off of. The ‘one’ who will put everything right and all that. Her entire dialouge with Teresa before they started fighting had me thinking a justice speech before ’smitting the evil’.

    But Irene is pure win.

  5. I think that’s the problem I have with Priscilla: she just looks too much like a typical shounen-hero at this point (which I tend to dislike more often than not). I do admit, though that her character could grow quite interestingly, if she develops in the right way.

  6. Clare is my favorite so far. I’m liking the direction Claymore is going in. I did also find Priscilla annoying and hope she dies soon but oh well. My main thought is who is controlling the Claymores? I think this is getting very interesting.

  7. We’ll have to get used to liking Priscilla less and less.

Episode 8 will be one of the keys to the whole series—its one to look forward to, with a nasty twist or three.

  8. Consider this part of the series is a flashback…
Btw the claymores in op are Miria, Hellen and Deneve as you will find out later (ep 9 and forward prob) ^^ the manga is way ahead all I can say is the story gets way better every time.
