But then again, it wouldn't really make any sense, since Riful was after the stronger Claymores. I think it's more of a message to Riful. The fact that they sent about the worst possible team of Claymore does say that the organization isn't keen on giving up its top-Claymore that easily. And speaking of translations, the manga makes this part clearer. I don't know if the dialog was simplified for the anime (rather common, the manga is very talky) or if it's a translation glitch. She was going on a rampage so the man of the north defeated her to end it, but afterwards he made her his woman instead of killing her, and that's what triggered the arms race between the Abyssal Ones.
