Ah, thanks for explaining. This episode was quite complex, but as you mentioned it was wonderfully done. I'm also quite looking forward to the final part of this anime. There's only four episodes left, Kanji still has to fight, we still need to get information about the people who started all this and it needs to get resolved somehow.

When Kokopelli realized that this thing was real and not an actual simulation, he asked koemushi if he could take the place of the children. Koemushi being the jack-ass that he is started to use reverse-psychology by saying that he actually wants to help his daughter only since the other children were strangers. In the end Kokopelli wasn't able to chose to save his daughter only so the game went on. When they reached the last part of the game kokopelli begs koemushi to save his daughter since he and his daughter are the only ones left in the contract. Koemushi suggests that if he wants to save his daughter then he needs to get a whole new group of children to join in. He agreed and thats where the story began with kokopelli asking the children we came to love to participate in this "game" in order to (save himself?) save his daughter. When kokopelli came back to the ship with all contracts of the children in place. It seemed like there weren't enough children so Koemushi had to use his daughter (who was piloting zearth) to balance out the numbers. I thought this was an important part in the episode and I thought it was wonderfully done. I hope they can keep the steam up till the end.
