If you wanna more PL goodness, skip it and watch the OAVs or even the TV series. The Patlabor WXIII (I think?) movie was sort of a let down for me, although it had its moments, it was really bogged down by trying to hard to be a Ghost in the Shell SAC type of movie with both a sci-fi and realistic twist. You're kind of expected to know who everyone is already, really.
