Gunslinger Girl is in the future? judging by the guns, cars and clothes, I thought they were in late 20th century at best.

madhouse would have finished season 1 if the mangaka didn’t get in the way. a sequel was not made because the mangaka was in the way.

Get rid of mangaka = Sequel GET

Gunslinger Girl has always intrigued me and has always got me glued on TV… I just have to wait until almost all the eppies have already been translated before I watch them all in a marathon. Gets more continuity that way.

The political structure of Italy makes the anime even more intriguing than it already is. Thanks for the notes you shared and thanks for blogging. :)

Keep in mind that the note doesn’t want to be a complete essay on Italian society. Who wants to know more, may search around as there’s plenty of information online.
That’s only meant to let you know the origins of Gunslinger’s scenario, That are Lega Nord for the 5 Republics and Mafia for Southern Italy situation and gangster like villains.

I’m not being mean or anything but I think Madhouse couldn’t make the 2nd season because they were probably too busy with other anime such as Saiunkoku Monogatari or Mokke or…etc.
