L.A might just be basing his comment on what you've said on the Nijju realated blog entries.

Anyway, I finally got the time to watch this episode, and I'm also convinced that DEEN is going to produce another masterpiece if they keep this quality throughout the show. Wonderful 20 minutes.

Actually, I don't really care about "reality", I think you meant "realism", or more accurately: "believability". So far, I haven't had any reason to doubt the believability of this series, but that can also be because I don't fully understand the complex dialogue.

This really has been the dark horse this season and I think with series like saiunkoku and moribito, anime in an historical setting is fast becoming one of my favourite genres.

Also congrats on the anime blog awards nomination

Agree Amatsuki is turning out to be really good, but then again the sourse material is really good too XD, from now on is going to be full speed ahead, but you can expect lot of character development and background.

Shamon then appears as well, taking over one the priestesses.

Not Shamon. Bonten is the blonde-haired tengu. Shamon is the monk. 2 totally different characters.

By the way, with reference to your comments in the previous episode, you can see Bonten in the ED too. He is one of the trio (that are shown talking in the last few minutes of this episode) in the top left corner of the group picture.

Amatsuki is definitely coming along very nicely.
