@yes+kev: these people are of the Yakuza's kind. It' would be easy for them to gain some fire weapons, but they couldn't probably use them in the Inner Sanctuary. (just guessing)

@ncomplete. Kurenai's a 4 chapter novel, and it continues too. Only the fisrt novel was animated. Let's hope for the next one ^^ (somenone wrote it on randomic's blog)

i agree with hashihime. There are some holes ideed, the bigger one being Murasaki herself. Damn she's a little child and has thounghts and act more mature than the adults around her... that's not so believable indeed.
And this ending... what a stupid ending: Our heroes won but guess what? They Left the prize there... yeah, smart move...

yes i agree. they are such a rich family, yet nobody has a gun? that is because it is relatively hard to buy a gun in Japan, even for private security purposes, it is very hard to get the the permits for private handgun use...

I assume that you are from America, where you can buy a gun from a supermarket and then proceed to gun down whoever took your parking spot.

I like how they say the Kuhouins are such a powerful family that they can ignore society's laws and such... but no one in the premise has a gun.

I don't think that there's going to be a second season. All conflicts have been resolved, everyone's happy, and I don't see how a second season can be made.

Is there any more to the novel this show is based on? Or did it end where the novel did? Just curious if there's a possibility for a second season.
.. or since I haven't watched the last 4 eps, you say it has a "solid" ending, with no loose threads.. did it end with simply a satisfying resolution or a kind of full-closure finality?

One thing to note was that it seemed there was some censorship in this episode. When Ryuuji stabbed Benika, you could hear the sound of blood gushing and see a camera shot to the floor. But, there was no blood. Inconsistency, much?

Well, in my opinion, Renjou's change of hearts has been built up for. In the first episode he indeed was really angry at Murasaki's escape, but after that he subtly started to change, until at one point he started to blame Ryuuji for going after Murasaki. I do admit that it's a bit strange that the psycho Ryuuji just accepted this, yeah.

I enjoyed the ending -- especially Murasaki, and Yuuki Aoi's voicing of her -- but I thought there were huge holes. Not just Yayoi recovering so fast, and with a couple of new moves being able to beat the unbeatable opponent. And the complete absence of the other guards. Also Renjou's quick change of heart. And also leaving Murasaki there among the same dangerous people, a seven-year-old against adults. As far as I can see, her real story starts now.
