Action isn't the point. It's a very thoughtful show, beautifully colored and drawn, and is very SMART. I'd love to see a second season, but you know, there is only so much manga for the anime to cover. It'd be a shame to have to see the director have to adapt his own ending (although I bet he'd do a good job). Amatsuki has definitely some of the best storytelling I’ve seen in a long time. Also, the tree was cut down because it was sick and there was no way for them to rescue it even though the fox thought that it was because the humans were evil.
