Night) Shymalan? I blinked when I first saw that name in Birdy. I'm not sure if the creators deliberately named the character after M. Night, though the darker skin tone suggests that he was inspired by the (in)famous film director. Making him an antagonist; what a twist! I have to say that I like what they're doing with Nagasuki by making her a mirror image of what happened with the main character. I wish Hamamiya wasn't quite as naggy as she has been so far and that the creators played up the love triangle thing a bit more, but otherwise with 26 eps to work with they have plenty of time to move things along now.
