There wasn't any character development whatsoever during the first 19 episodes. In episode 20 Kotoko gets finally angry. All male characters are downright disgusting in attitude and the females are pathetic. The only reason to watch it is to see whether it can get any worse. Only Kotoko's funny faces are remotely entertaining. Otherwise, it's neither a comedy nor a tragedy. It's more like a really, really bad telenovella - and "bad" is already implicit when it comes to those. I guess I would have dropped it 12 episodes ago, if other current anime were actually subbed (Macross F is Macross but overall not that good or interesting). I' m not sure exactly where the show's going with all the elements it has introduced though some sort of eventual love triangle is likely, but it's very interesting and entertaining so far. Good build-up is something I always appreciate. I never thought I would enjoy watching that anime so much. And while I've barely watched anything from the Summer Season (dropped Chocolate Underground, only just started Detroit Metal City), I just happen to be watching Natsume Yuujinchou, which is also my fav of the season. Probably because it is the only other anime I've watched from this season. Damn it I want more Himitsu to be subbed. As for Blassreiter...maybe I should give that anime a second go.
