Derek: no, I dropped it after that first episode.I'm not sure whether I'm going to give it a second chance.

By the way, have you still been watching Nogizaka? I know you rated it a 3/10 in enjoyment the last time you mentioned the show, and I wasn't particularly impressed with the show either, but there was something about it that made me keep watching and I actually like it a lot more.

Kurisu: there are obviously a lot of problems with Itazura na Kiss, but strangely I like the characters when they aren't getting all melodramatic. I can understand why the cast can get on people's nerves, though.

Autonomous monster: the DVD-specials that were supposed to come along with the final DVDs finally arrived here. ;)

Wait, there's MOAR Zombie Loan?

And yeah, I'm surprised how much I'm liking Strike Witches. Might be because of how ridiculous the concept it; I just can't bring myself to analyse it critically.

Whenever you mention "Itazura na Kiss" I can't tell whether you're serious or kidding. There wasn't any character development whatsoever during the first 19 episodes. In episode 20 Kotoko gets finally angry. All male characters are downright disgusting in attitude and the females are pathetic. The only reason to watch it is to see whether it can get any worse. Only Kotoko's funny faces are remotely entertaining. Otherwise, it's neither a comedy nor a tragedy. It's more like a really, really bad telenovella - and "bad" is already implicit when it comes to those. I guess I would have dropped it 12 episodes ago, if other current anime were actually subbed (Macross F is Macross but overall not that good or interesting).

Well, I agree with most of your top ten list and yeah Blassreiter deserves it, I think it is kind of on the GOOD Gonzo side.

I'm definitely liking Xam’d and it's quickly becoming one of my current favorites. I' m not sure exactly where the show's going with all the elements it has introduced though some sort of eventual love triangle is likely, but it's very interesting and entertaining so far. Good build-up is something I always appreciate.

Other than that...more than the writers "giving up", for me the main thing about Code Geass (R2) is that they're trying to do too many things when there aren't enough episodes left. In other words, there's more of a rush and not enough build-up. I still like it, but less so than in the past.

"If it’s going to be exactly the same, couldn’t they just have shown a rerun of the original Slayers instead?"

Simple: sometimes, you just WANT more of the same! For me, if I really like something, then I want more of it. Watching reruns of Slayers would be boring, since the viewer would already know what happens... but if the viewer DOESN'T know what happens, yet is having roughly the same viewing experience, then that's both new AND old at the same time. It's like a warm nostalgic blanket... unfamiliar in one sense, yet so very, very familiar in another. (:

I dunno, summer isn't too great in my view. I like Natsume but not nearly as much as you do.

Xam'd sticks out way ahead of the rest, and it's a autumn show that couldn't get a tv spot!

I've raised the score of Chi's Sweet Home from 7 to a 8 in recent times. I never thought I would enjoy watching that anime so much.

And while I've barely watched anything from the Summer Season (dropped Chocolate Underground, only just started Detroit Metal City), I just happen to be watching Natsume Yuujinchou, which is also my fav of the season. Probably because it is the only other anime I've watched from this season. Damn it I want more Himitsu to be subbed. As for Blassreiter...maybe I should give that anime a second go. Indeed a strange Top 10.
