Wow...you people are kindve of disturbing, and your detective skills need a lotta work. For example, Casshern has been seen with Lyuze in neutral form ALOT! and if anyone still thinks sophita is coming in, THINK AGAIN! I think episode 18 establishes where things are headed in the way of Casshern's sex life. And for those people who hail CasshernxRingo or CasshernxLuna relationships...I suggest you get a life in a mental institution you sick perverts ;P Btw, we saw Ringo's...parent...in the episode where Ogi told Casshern how he found her. He basically ripped ringo out of the things metal chassy with blood spraying everywhere. And Leda has already clarified that she loves herself more than anyone and plans to be the last one living (episode 17). And I have the prize of getting to say I knew Casshern was gonna get with Lyuze from the very first episode. If you'd like to know how I knew, just look at the OP. Casshern and Lyuze are the ONLY ones in it! And theres a brief scene where it looks like their really close together (Horrizontal monster mash anyone? haha :D) Anyway a lot can be construed about a series from the OP and EP. Learn to watch them noobs! Peace!

I tried to watch an episode of the original series at youtube, but it took forever to load, so I just gave it up.

As I've mentioned in a previous comment (#12), I think this episode already makes it clear that the Casshern in this series is neither a cyborg nor an "android human" (in the sense of originally being human). So far, it is already revealed that Casshern, Dio, and Leda were created by Ohji, but there is no indication whatsoever that any one of the three was originally human.

Ohji explains that Casshern, Dio, and Leda are robots with a "different body composition". Whether that difference from "older robots" refers to something organic, nanotech, or something else; is yet to be revealed. That is, if it's even going to be.

And I think it is already established that Casshern Sins is no retcon. There was someone who seems to be a fan of the original series that was adamantly arguing with me on that before, but after seeing the scene about Luna's childhood (episode 10), he conceded.

I guess, in the next episode, we'll learn why Braiking Boss has that kind of control over Casshern. That will probably provide enough material to fill that episode... that, along with Lyuze, hopefully, "giving Ringo a hand" - which I'd first like to see.

What was Casshern going through at the end? It was triggered when Braiking Boss said, "Kill Luna." I don't think it was a guilt trip, I think that order was a trigger word activating a certain program in Casshern that made him kill Luna, maybe a different berserk mode from his usual glowing eyes one. I think there's still a lot to discover about Casshern's nature in this series, his "berserk modes," and his programming (assuming he's a robot). Also, is he a cyborg or robot in this retcon? Yep, let's sit back, watch and discover more. I think it would also help to watch the original Neo-Human Casshern series to get some clues, maybe the current writers drew some things from the original series aside from characters.

But the fact of him becomming immortal by either bathing in her blood or somehow her blood is inside him. Notice when he is saying, “Kill Luna” he is grabbing his own chest and trying to kill himself. That may also be why the rumor that if you “eat” casshern you become immortal is going around, because luna or her blood is inside of him.

I've thought as much (Luna in some form existing within Casshern), but the scene in question could also be viewed as Casshern redirecting his destructive compulsion to himself for the first time. Remember, before he sunk his fingers to his own chest, his hands were at the brink of crushing Ringo's face.

Okay…there’s a connection between Ringo and Luna (how they both touch Casshern’s face and tells him it’s not his fault). Can Ringo be a remake of Luna?

As I've pointed out in a comment for the post about the previous episode, Luna said that Casshern "is slowly changing her", in one of the flashbacks. Maybe Ringo is the result of that "change"?

Or maybe, Ohji tried to salvage Luna by putting her cells, DNA, mind (or a copy of her brainwave patterns), spiritual essence, or something along the lines of those, in a robot body - resulting in some kind of a half-robot (half-something else) hybrid which is now the character we know as "Ringo".

If there's anything I've learned about Casshern Sins by now, it's that miraculous things could just happen with the details of the supporting pseudo-science (or any decent explanation for that matter) merely being optional.

Okay...there's a connection between Ringo and Luna (how they both touch Casshern's face and tells him it's not his fault). Can Ringo be a remake of Luna? Or is it the offspring of Casshern and Luna? Can robot birth be the hope of ruin that can help both robots and humans? Casshern SINS is getting so interesting! Each episode seems so short like it doesn't really run for the 25 minutes. Can't wait for the next episode!

Maybe casshern and luna had sex and their offspring was ringo! Hehe ok that might be a little over the top!
I think that ringo is Cassherns and luna's "kid" for really no reason. It was kinda strange that always before the OP there was Casshern or Luna and this ep it was Ringo

Another double post, sorry. I guess this episode finally confirms that the Casshern in this series is a robot and not a cyborg or "android human"... at least, not originally human. The question in my mind now is that; if Casshern, Dio, and Leda are Ohji's "failed attempts" at trying to make procreative robots, did he actually succeed elsewhere? And is that "success"...Ringo?

It’s still a bit of a wrong comparison, IMO, but I can guess why the beginning of the episode reminded him of it.

Judging from the URL, I think I might have already seen a bit of that before. Thanks, but no, thanks. If I look at it now, it will probably just ruin my day.

I've just seen the subbed vid, and I kind of figured out as much. I guess I just didn't care enough about what I saw in that part the first time I viewed it, so I completely forgot about it. I feel a bit stupid, but I don't regret what I've said, as it is something that I've been wanting to say for a long time - I just never had the opportunity to do so.

@ Machi:
I now see what you meant by Lyuze “rubbing it in” (you weren't kidding). Apparently, Casshern has “matured”, and is now more stoic and less emotional, and it seems that Lyuze’s blaming doesn’t cut as deep anymore (although it has gone to an all-time high in this episode). I also like to think that Casshern is perceptive enough to see that Lyuze has only her sister’s death and her revenge to hang on to. It’s what’s been keeping her alive and going (not to mention in a pretty good condition) all this time, and that kind of thing isn’t something that’s easy to let go of, even in lieu of something that might be better. I’m sure he understands where she’s coming from. By the way, him warning her about the unstable ground, I thought, was a nice gesture. Although I can’t help but think of it as a metaphor for something. Maybe someone here could figure it out.

What’s interesting about this episode is that while Lyuze kept nagging Casshern about him causing the Ruin, in the end, she finds out that Braiking Boss is the one who gave the order to kill Luna (and why) and sees for herself how Casshern is still very much under his influence. Add to that, she witnesses Ringo telling Casshern the exact opposite of what she’s been saying all this time. Surely that must have at least made her think. As I've said before, it would be interesting to see how they'd get along after the events in this episode.

The most interesting revelation in this episode concern the nature of Casshern, a robot designed to give birth. First it was a failure, but maybe his encounter with Luna gave him this possibility. Ringo, daughter of Casshern ? So many questions for the next part of the series, and a great philosophical idea (creation of God). I liked Braiking Boss mind game. He unleashed the killing machine again but why?
Even if there was no action, it was a great episode for the atmosphere (as usual, the best element of the show in my opinion, more than the cool action sequences) and I can’t wait for next episode !

You see the problem with CASSHERNxLYUZE is very clear in this episode, she loves telling him its his fault and drills it in too deeply.

I think I've already mentioned that there's a "high wall" between Casshern and Lyuze... as well as "development"... As before, I suggest that we just sit back, relax, and see how things unfold. As for me, I'm confident that Casshern-x-Lyuze is going to be a canon couple. If I'm wrong, I'll accept I'm wrong. No problem.

wow, the very beginning made me think emoyoutube fag. LEAVE HIM ALONE!! HES NOT BAD!! LEAVE HIM ALONE BAWWWWWW!!

The beginning of the show? The beginning of this episode? Or the first comment (which would be mine)? Your comment too reminds me of those people who like to throw words like "gay" and "fag" around, but later on turns out to be the ones who are actually dealing with homosexual feelings of some sort.

I think it's already been established that the main character of the show is "emo". The show itself in general isn't the type for chauvinists and sleazebags. Of course, neither chauvinism nor sleaziness necessarily equates to "heterosexuality"; just as sensitivity, being emotional, or even effeminacy doesn't necessarily equate to "homosexuality" - if that's what you're getting at.

As for me, I’m confident that Casshern-x-Lyuze is going to be a canon couple. If I’m wrong, I’ll accept I’m wrong. No problem.

wow, the very beginning made me think emoyoutube fag. LEAVE HIM ALONE!! HES NOT BAD!! LEAVE HIM ALONE BAWWWWWW!!

The beginning of the show? The beginning of this episode? Or the first comment (which would be mine)? Your comment too reminds me of those people who like to throw words like “gay” and “fag” around, but later on turns out to be the ones who are actually dealing with homosexual feelings of some sort.

I think it’s already been established that the main character of the show is “emo”. The show itself in general isn’t the type for chauvinists and sleazebags. Of course, neither chauvinism nor sleaziness necessarily equates to “heterosexuality”; just as sensitivity, being emotional, or even effeminacy doesn’t necessarily equate to “homosexuality” - if that’s what you’re getting at.

You see the problem with CASSHERNxLYUZE is very clear in this episode, she loves telling him its his fault and drills it in too deeply. While with CASSHERNxRINGO she actually tries to calm him down and tell him he's not at fault, BTW as if I'd be serious hahahahahaha but I do find that fault of CASSHERNxLYUZE to be quite true the woman just doesn't stop reminding him every time he meets her or even if he's nice to her :(.

Going back to the episode I liked how they slowly made that revelation that the man sitting with them was Braiking Boss. The music and the animations really built up the atmosphere, this is what I love about the show~ It was interesting to find out that Casshern, Dio, and Leda were actually robots built to procreate (though they ended up as killing machines). Looks like Leda may be making use of that fact on Dio. Can't wait for 14 but it looks like that will be released after new year(?).

On a sidenote OST of the anime is coming out 1/28/09 for those interested.

You just want that shipping XD you know the real shipping is CASSHERNxRINGO.

I'll take that as a sick joke.

"Casshern-x-Lyuze" is not a romantic development that I just want to see or happen; I know it's going to happen. The hints are just too overwhelmingly plenty.

I never saw the relationship between Casshern and Ringo in a romantic or sexual context, but if that's how you see it, you're entitled to that I guess.

But going back to Casshern and Lyuze, I'm expecting at least some hugging between them in the next episode. Remember how Leda calmed Dio down in episode 10? Maybe something like that.

Looking at the preview of 14 looks like more revelations are about to bear fruit, that plus Leda and Dio seem to be making a move.

More like Leda's making a move on Dio. Just kidding.

I do wonder however if Leda intends to make a move against Braiking boss, after all he still was once their boss so if anything he could still be a threat to whatever domination plan she seems to be scheming. Can't wait for this to be subbed~ Heh looks like Casshern SINS is picking up on explaining more of the past. But the bigger question remains as to what happened to Luna and why is Casshern immortal.

On a side note I am glad that Braiking boss appeared again since his only appearance was from episode 1, and it seemed kinda odd that he only got a few lines of dialogue while seeming important at that episode.

I apologize for the double post. I just saw the raw vid, and... wow. This episode turned out to be way better than I've ever expected.

There was something that I should have been reminded of when you said that Ohji created Casshern, and should've mentioned in my previous comment - but I wasn't. It was something I've been waiting till I've seen this episode before saying, and I guess this is a good enough time for it.

Some days ago, the idea that the main cast of Casshern Sins are kinda like a "family", occured to me:
Casshern - father/husband
Lyuze - mother/wife
Ringo - daughter
Ohji - grandfather
Friender - family dog
Dio & Leda - bad neighbors
Braiking Boss - Casshern's boss
... well, something like that. But I never thought that Ohji's gonna turn out to actually be "Casshern's father", even in a "Pinnochio story" kind of sense.

But anyway, what I said in my previous post about Casshern still considering Lyuze as some sort of "hostile element" is obviously not the case anymore. I don't understand a great majority of the dialogue, but it's clear to me that Casshern is now more comfortable with talking to Lyuze, and Lyuze is hardly that vindictive and hostile towards Casshern anymore - even in comparison to how they were to each other in episode 09. But recalling all the good stuff I've seen in this episode (like how "concerned" Lyuze was when Casshern started having a headache), that even seems like an understatement. As a shipper, it's interesting to see how Casshern and Lyuze would get along now that the former is, more or less, finally "in the clear" regarding Luna's murder, Lize's death, and the Ruin that followed. THANK YOU, Braiking Boss. THANK YOU.

Damn. Remember when I said I was looking forward to the "Ohji episode"? I've always thought there's gonna be something interesting or important about his background.

The bond between the two of them really seems to be a central one in this series; it seems even more important than the one between Casshern and Lyuze…

Casshern and Lyuze are still enemies afterall. My theory is that Casshern's "defense mechanism" has at least 3 modes or stages; "Neutral" (his hair is showing) - when there is no threat around, "Battle" (his hair is covered) - his standard fighting mode in which he is still in control, and "Berserk" (his eyes are glowing green) - activated when there is a high level of threat around or when he is angry.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but Casshern has never been around Lyuze in his "Neutral" mode - which would be his most vulnerable state. Compare that to how he's "hanged out" with almost every other "important character" althroughout the first half of the series (most especially Sophita). But that only sets Lyuze, and Casshern's relationship with her, apart from the rest. "What makes it special" even.

There's just so much wall between Casshern and Lyuze for a bond to be truly seen between them. Casshern is obviously ridden with guilt and probably thinks it's unfair to ask anything of Lyuze other than to kill him and have her revenge/justice, and Lyuze probably still couldn't bring herself to just accept the man whom she have blamed and hated all this time despite seeing for herself that he's not as bad as she had believed. But once they both get over that high wall (or through it), I'm sure that it's gonna be pretty awesome.
